What is Gay... Ghey... Ghay...?
Urban dictionary says:
1. jovial or happy, good-spirited
2. a homosexual male or female
3. often used to describe something stupid or unfortunate. originating from homophobia. quite preferable among many teenage males in order to buff up their "masculinity"

1. "We'll have a gay old time."
2. "You DO know he's gay. Notice his homoerotic pornography collection."
3. "Man, these seats are gay. I can't even see what's going on!"
Kinda on the right track there.
Wikipedia Says:
Gay is an adjective meaning "carefree", "happy", or "bright and showy"; however in modern usage, gay is a word usually used, as either a noun or adjective, to refer to homosexuals; persons sexually oriented toward members of their own gender.

"Gay", when used as an adjective, sometimes describes traits associated with both homosexual men and women, their culture, or perceived lifestyle. The term
lesbian, on the other hand, is used exclusively in a gender-specific way to describe homosexual women.
Im here to tell you.. we are neither carefree or happy, definately not bright and showy people... id suggest if u saw one on the street, id run. Bwhahahaha, who am i kidding... Showy.. FUCK yeah.. we show everything.. Bright.. YES!!! happy.. mmmmmh, i dunno. carefree.. well sadly i associate that word with tampons.
Now.. other then the obvious association to "Gay" to the mood that gay discribed in the early 20th century.. as depicted on the finstones, where they endevoured to have a "Gay Ole Time."
Im going to investigate WHY call us GAY! why not homo's... Butty Boys? i mean.. why G A Y! i cant comprihend it! (apologises for bad spelling) (leaves bad spelling in outta laziness and not to make the apology previously stated redundent)
Development of modern sexualized usage
The use of the term gay, as it relates to homosexuality, arises from an extension of the sexualised connotation of "carefree and uninhibited", implying a willingness to disregard conventional or respectable sexual mores. Such usage is documented as early as the 1920s.
It was initially more commonly used to imply heterosexually unconstrained lifestyles, as for example in the once-common phrase "gay Lothario",or in the title of the book and film The Gay Falcon (1941), which concerns a womanising detective whose first name is "Gay". Well into the mid 20th century a middle-aged bachelor could be described as "gay" without prejudice.
That there is one theory... (more to come)
